Invokana Reviews – What is Invokana?

July 7, 2015 — San Diego, CA  The Hood National Law Group is currently investigating possible kidney failure injury from the drug Invokana (canagliflozin) by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma and is marketed under license by Janssen, a division of Johnson & Johnson.

Invokana Reviews

While investigating Invokana, we found several reviews of the drug from real patients across the country. Read their experiences with Invokana here:

“Invokana was the worst drug I have ever taken. Caused dry mouth, which I could have dealt with & vaginal/genital itching & extreme pain & even swelling & I guess yeast infection, which I haven’t had for years. I was on it for less than a week along w/Metformin. Acute agony from this med. I think it should be taken off the market.”

“Didn’t take long enough to assess effectiveness. Immediately gave me a severe yeast infection. had a bladder infection 1 week later that may also have been due to the drug.”

“Liked it because it lowered my blood sugar. Hated it because of all the side effects. Would urinate at least 2-3 times an hour constantly, was dying of thirst, mouth dry, yeast infections were the worst I have ever had.”

“My brother was prescribed Invokana almost three years and developed a cancerous tumor in his kidney. it was a very complicated surgery because of where the tumor was located and because of that the entire kidney had to be removed. he was taking 300 mg. upon diagnosis the surgeons instructed my brother to stop the medication immediately. my brother never had any kidney problems in his whole life. Let this be a warning.”

Does Invokana cause kidney failure?

In the first year after Invokana was approved by the FDA, the drug was prescribed nearly 426,000 times, according to the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP). In addition, serious adverse events were reported, over 457, and were identified as being directly related to renal toxicity, including kidney failure or impairment, dehydration, fluid imbalances, kidney stones, UTI’s, and abnormal weight loss. The FDA also found at least 20 cases between March 2013 and June 2014 where Type 2 diabetes patients contracted some form of ketoacidosis.

Kidney damage or failure can happen when the kidneys stop properly filtering waste and fluid. You can experience shortness of breath, fatigue, swelling, abnormal heart rhythm, or even death.
