Tucson, AZ – Multiple Injuries in Crash at Ajo Way & Kinney Rd

Tucson, AZ (August 8, 2025) – At least three people were hurt in a four-vehicle collision on Friday, August 8. The crash took place around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Ajo Way and South Kinney Road, on Tucson’s southwest side.

Emergency responders from the Drexel Heights Fire District, Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Pima County Sheriff’s Department quickly arrived at the scene. Paramedics found one driver trapped inside a vehicle that caught fire. Firefighters rescued the driver and extinguished the flames.

One of the involved vehicles was found off the road. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that one person suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. Two others were injured but their conditions were not life-threatening.

The roadway remained closed from approximately 11:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. while crews cleared the scene. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
