Sahuarita, AZ – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on S Nogales Hwy Near MP 53

Sahuarita, AZ (December 13, 2025) — A tragic multi-vehicle crash in Sahuarita claimed two lives on December 11, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. The collision occurred around 6:15 p.m. on South Nogales Highway near milepost 53 and involved four vehicles.

Deputies responded after receiving reports of a serious crash with multiple victims. When they arrived, they found several damaged vehicles spread across the roadway. Authorities identified the victims as 56-year-old Robert Reid and 61-year-old Lizette Reid. Deputies pronounced him dead at the scene. Lizette Reid, who was riding as a passenger, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the Chrysler Pacifica sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received hospital care. Deputies said the drivers of the Toyota C-HR and the Ford F650 were not injured. Officials also confirmed that none of the surviving drivers showed signs of impairment.
