Phoenix, AZ – Two Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-17 Near Bell Rd

Phoenix, AZ (October 27, 2025) – Two people were seriously injured in a collision on Interstate 17 late Sunday night in north Phoenix.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), troopers responded to the scene around 10:40 p.m. on October 26 after reports of a two-vehicle crash just south of Bell Road.

Investigators said a Volkswagen collided with a Lexus that had stopped on the freeway. The driver of the Volkswagen suffered serious injuries, while the Lexus driver sustained life-threatening injuries. Both victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities have not released the identities of the drivers involved. DPS’s Vehicular Crimes Unit continues to investigate what caused the collision and whether impairment, distraction, or other factors played a role. Updates will be provided as authorities continue their investigation.
