Phoenix, AZ – Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Loop 202 Opas at Desert Foothills Pkwy

Phoenix, AZ (August 7, 2025) – One person died and another was injured in a motorcycle crash early Thursday, August 7, near Ahwatukee.

The crash occurred just after midnight on the eastbound off-ramp of Loop 202 South Mountain at Desert Foothills Pkwy. Officers with the Phoenix Police Department and troopers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to the scene.

According to DPS, at least one motorcycle was damaged in the crash. Several other motorcycles stopped at the scene, as seen on freeway traffic cameras.

A photojournalist at the location reported that one person died from their injuries. At least one other individual was also hurt, but their condition has not been made public.

Officials have not yet identified the person who was killed. The events that led to the crash are still under investigation.
