Motorcycle Accidents in MesaFatal Motorcycle Crash at Val Vista Dr & Southern Ave

Motorcycle crashes are a major safety concern in Mesa and throughout Arizona. Riders face serious risks because motorcycles offer very little protection in collisions. Even when riders wear helmets and protective clothing, injuries from crashes can be severe or fatal.

The Arizona Department of Transportation reports that hundreds of motorcycle crashes occur across the state every year. Many of these crashes happen in busy urban areas like Mesa. Intersections are especially dangerous, where cars often fail to notice motorcycles before turning or changing lanes.

Common causes of motorcycle accidents include speeding, distracted driving, failing to yield, and impaired driving. Many drivers simply do not look carefully enough for motorcycles, which are smaller and easier to overlook. Nighttime riding increases these risks further, especially in poorly lit areas.

Motorcyclists often suffer traumatic injuries, such as head trauma, spinal cord injuries, broken bones, and internal bleeding. These injuries can require long-term medical treatment and rehabilitation. In fatal crashes, families face funeral costs, sudden loss of income, and deep emotional pain.
