Glendale police report the accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Authorities believe a vehicle traveling westbound on Peoria Ave reportedly ran a red light and struck a vehicle heading south on 59th Ave.
The impact triggered a chain-reaction collision involving two additional vehicles. Emergency crews arrived quickly, but the man in the first struck vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the vehicle that allegedly ran the red light, a woman, remained at the scene. Investigators are examining whether impairment was a factor in the crash.
Police temporarily closed the intersection while officers investigated and documented the scene. No further information has been provided regarding the occupants of the other vehicles involved. Authorities remind drivers to follow traffic signals and remain vigilant at intersections, particularly during early morning hours when visibility is reduced.
We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the victim and hope for strength during this difficult time.

These types of accidents often lead to chain-reaction collisions, where multiple vehicles are involved. Victims may suffer broken bones, head trauma, internal injuries, or fatalities. The sudden nature of these crashes makes them particularly dangerous for both drivers and passengers.
A Glendale wrongful death lawyer can provide vital support for crash victims or families of the deceased. Attorneys help collect police reports, medical records, and witness statements, as well as work with accident reconstruction experts to establish liability. Legal guidance is also critical when dealing with insurance companies, which may attempt to minimize compensation.
Compensation for red light accidents may cover medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, rehabilitation costs, and, in fatal cases, funeral expenses and loss of financial support. Attorneys work to ensure victims receive fair compensation that reflects the severity of their injuries or losses.
Insurance companies often push for quick settlements, even in complex or multi-vehicle crashes. Legal representation ensures victims or their families are not pressured into accepting less than what they deserve. Attorneys can negotiate, file claims, and help hold negligent drivers accountable under Arizona law.
Documenting the crash scene is essential. Photos of vehicles, road conditions, traffic signals, and visible injuries, along with witness contacts, strengthen a case. Early consultation with an attorney can help preserve evidence, gather statements, and improve the chances of a favorable outcome.
