Car Accidents in Arizona
Arizona continues to see a high number of crashes along major freeways and urban corridors. From Phoenix to the surrounding West Valley, growing populations and heavy commuter traffic increase the risk of collisions. Accidents along routes like Loop 101 are often tied to congestion, speeding, or distracted driving.
Here are several factors commonly linked to freeway crashes in Arizona:
-
Rush hour congestion: Traffic backups during peak hours increase the chances of rear-end collisions and lane change mishaps. Sudden stops and reduced spacing between vehicles create ideal conditions for accidents.
-
Distracted driving: Looking at a phone or navigation screen for even a moment can cause drivers to miss changing traffic patterns. In fast-moving freeway conditions, that delay can lead to a crash.
-
Speeding: Exceeding the posted speed limit makes it harder to stop or avoid obstacles. Speeding remains one of the top causes of serious crashes across the state.
-
Limited visibility: Low-light conditions during early morning hours or inclement weather can limit a driver’s ability to detect hazards or read road signs.
