Pedestrian accidents in Flagstaff are a growing concern, especially along busy routes such as East Route 66 and Ponderosa Parkway. These areas see a mix of vehicles, cyclists, and foot traffic, increasing the chances of collisions—particularly during evening hours when visibility drops.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, hundreds of pedestrians suffer injuries in the state each year. Many of these crashes occur in urban zones where traffic signals, lighting, or crosswalk markings may be limited. Even at low speeds, a vehicle can cause life-altering injuries, including fractures, spinal trauma, and internal damage.

Negligent driving remains one of the most common causes of pedestrian crashes. Drivers who fail to yield, check blind spots, or reduce speed in crosswalk zones endanger lives. In some cases, distracted driving or impairment further increases the risk of severe injury.

Pedestrian crashes often bring not only physical pain but also emotional and financial burdens. Victims may face months of recovery, expensive medical care, and lost wages while trying to heal. Some require long-term therapy or adaptive equipment to regain independence. These challenges can make navigating insurance claims and legal procedures extremely difficult without professional guidance.
