Tucson, AZ (January 19, 2026) – A woman was killed in a head-on crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Fort Lowell Road and Alvernon Way in Tucson. The crash occurred Sunday evening and left two other people injured.
Authorities said the crash happened around 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, January 18. Two vehicles, a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, collided near the intersection.
Officials identified the woman who died as 28-year-old Angela Marie King. She was driving the Mitsubishi and was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries suffered in the crash.
The driver of the Jeep, a 23-year-old man, and a 17-year-old passenger were also involved. Both were hurt in the crash but survived with injuries described as not life-threatening. They were taken to Banner University Medical Center for treatment.
Police said the two Jeep occupants left the scene on foot but were located and detained nearby shortly after the crash. Emergency units assisted with securing the area and providing medical care.
Authorities said charges are pending and depend on additional test results and the release of the injured occupants from the hospital. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
