Phoenix, AZ – Two Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on SR-51 Near 32nd St

Phoenix, AZ (August 7, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash that led to a rollover on Wednesday afternoon, August 6, in north Phoenix.

The crash happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of State Rte 51 near 32nd St, just north of Piestewa Peak.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a car began slowing down due to engine trouble. A Ford pickup then struck the rear of the slowing vehicle. Following that collision, a GMC Terrain SUV hit the pickup and rolled several times.

DPS officials confirmed that one person inside the SUV suffered life-threatening injuries. Another person involved in the crash was seriously injured and was also taken to a local hospital.

Authorities are still looking into the cause of the incident.
